Food Foul

I committed a food foul yesterday. I was being lazy. I just wasn't motivated to make anything. Rick can vouch for me. He had to listen to my complaining on the phone as I was in the store roaming around looking for something. I took the lazy way out and bought some fried chicken from the deli. I bought a box of instant mashed potatoes and made that in addition to some premium generic mac & cheese I had in the cabinet.

Horrible. I swear it has to be the worst dinner I have ever put together. A good bit of the blame goes on the chicken. I'm going to call the store today and let them know they sold some of the worst fried chicken I have ever had. It was extremely dry and obviously spent too much time in the case. The mac & cheese was terrible. The cheese in the foil pack was too think. It really wouldn't melt properly. It was too cheesy and not the good cheesy either. I can deal with good cheese. This stuff was crap. The only decent part of the meal was the instant mashed potatoes. Ok maybe that and the can of Monster Energy I was drinking.

Do spaghetti and a salad mix next time you feel that way. That's the same or less time to prepare, probably the same price and much better for you. It sounds like some serious carb loading occurred, probably not much protein if you didn't like the chicken and absolutely no fruits or veggies.

I have some different things I do when I'm being lazy:

Tuna or Mushroom Pasta Salad (Pasta, tuna or sauteed mushrooms, frozen peas and corn and Parmesan with mayo)

One of those deli roasted chickens and broccoli salad (Broccoli, grapes, blue cheese salad dressing and sunflower seeds)

Chicken Wraps (I'll grab one of the roasted chickens, or a couple pre baked chicken breasts) and mix it with some salad and dressing and wrap it in a tortilla

Pizza

Chinese (I have a place that delivers)

I told him to just get a frozen pizza and some spaghettios for the kids and be done with it.
